Yvette Wilson was born on March 6, 1964 in Los Angeles, California. When she was in San Jose State University, Wilson majored in communications. She never really thought of a career in comedy until she lost a bet with a friend and had to perform as a stand up comedian at a club. The reactions from the crowd encouraged her to never look back. Later on she earned a spot on Russel Simmons Def Comedy Jam. Wilson also played in a few movies such as: Friday, House-party, Poetic Justice, Don’t Be A Menace and much more. However, she was well known for her role as Andel Wilkerson on Moesha starring with Brandy Norwood. Her character owned a popular teen hotspot “The Den” portraying a responsible no nonsense taken club/bar owner. In 2000 after five seasons Yvette left Moesha for it’s spinoff, The Parker’s starring Mo’Nique playing the same role for another five seasons. After the cancellation on The Parker’s, she appeared in fox network shows. In May of 2012 reports started circulating that Wilson, was suffering stage 4 cervical cancer, and renal failure and needed help paying her medical bills. Sadly on June 14th at the Age of 48 fans found out about Wilson’s passing from former cast member Shar Jackson (Neicy From Moesha)  VIA twitter

I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but god has chosen to take my sister Yvette home.. … -Shar Jackson
