What is the “Divine Nine?”

The Divine Nine, known formally as the National Pan-Hellenic Council, consists of nine historically Black fraternities and sororities: 

1.) Alpha Phi Alpha (1906)

2.) Alpha Kappa Alpha (1908)

3.) Kappa Alpha Psi (1911)

4.) Omega Psi Phi (1911)

5.) Delta Sigma Theta (1913)

6.) Phi Beta Sigma (1914)

 7.) Zeta Phi Beta (1920)

 8.) Sigma Gamma Rho (1922)

 9.) Iota Phi Theta (1963)
